More than one developer for a solution?

Is there a way for more than one developer to work on a solution?

umm, yeah. You turn on sharing for the file if it is local, meaning up to 5 people can use it @ once. Better thing to do is have it hosted on FileMaker server. Developers just login as usual.

    There are obvious limitations however:

•*Cannot both be editing field definitions at same time
•*Cannot modify field definitions in a table if another user is accessing a record in that table
•*Cannot both modify same layout at same time
    • Cannot both modify same scripts/value lists etc @ same time

So long as developers don't tread on other developers toes it is fine, it is a good idea to ensure that both are working on entirely different areas to ensure this doesn't happen.

This thread isn't complete without a word of caution. It is a best practice to not open Manage Database Dialog over an internet connection. If your connection glitches, you'll likely have some corruption issues on your hands. Corruption that may go unnoticed for some time. The best practice is to have everyone who wants to open Manage Database dialog, rdc into the machine hosting the file or get inside the local network at the least. I am no networking whiz but I have seen the results of not heeding this warning: poltergeists and hobgoblins... or, more likely, your entire file will be corrupted.
