The Admin account is one of two default accounts in a FileMaker file. This is because every FileMaker file must have an Admin account, although it may be named something different. In fact, it is recommended that you change the name of the Admin account, so a full access account name isn’t easily guessed.
The admin account is the default startup account in newly created FileMaker files and there is no password assigned to the default Admin account. You can modify the Admin account to fit your needs. You can even delete the default account as long as there an existing account with full access.
Once again, you can delete, rename or duplicate the Admin account and none of this is true about the other FileMaker default account (the Guest account).
NOTE: It is always a good idea for the admin account to change passwords from time to time.
AND NOW FOR A WELL ACTUALLY MOMENT!
Well actually, you can have a FileMaker solution without a Admin level account. It is true that you cannot create a FileMaker file without one and there is no way to remove all Admin accounts in a traditional manner.
However, FileMaker Advanced has a tool to allow you to delete all full access admin accounts in a copy of the file. This is done as a method to help a developer secure the intellectual property of their solution.
