FileMaker Certification Preparation: New Record Request

This FileMaker training video on the New Record/Request script step is an excerpt from the Writing Scripts section of our FileMaker Certification Test Preparation course available at Productive Computing University.

This is a very simple and commonly used script step, however, there may be unexpected results if this is performed in unusual scenarios.

Since New Record is listed in the official study guide recommended resources for the FileMaker Certified Developer exam, all details about this are fair game and need to be fully understood.

  1. Productive Computing says

Even the simplest script steps can become confusing if you have never tried them outside of just the most commonly used manner.
To really master a topic, especially when preparing for something as rigorous as certification, it is important to see exactly how certain features work in as many different scenarios as possible.
Then you are no longer relying on untested theory, but personally proven practical results.
