Adding tables and fields to a FileMaker custom app to capture and store data is only part of the solution. Building intuitive layouts that quickly and clearly convey the information to the users is another important skill for FileMaker developers and power users to possess. It improves the user experience in the areas of navigation, data entry, and reporting to name just a few. The FileMaker Deep Dive: Layouts training class focuses on FileMaker’s design surface tools and the understanding needed to design and manage the layouts in your FileMaker solution.
If you desire to take your FileMaker reporting skills to the next level, make plans to participate in one or both days of this two-day training event, led by instructors from Cross IT and ProFile Developers. On Tuesday, February 25, Day 1 begins with basic layout building techniques for those users newer to FileMaker. On Wednesday, February 26, Day 2 focuses on next level skills such common design patterns and tips for building task specific layouts that will deliver a better experience to your users.
The initial topics of study for each day are listed below. Please note that the training sessions are not limited to only these areas. A pre-workshop survey will be sent to each attendee to help the trainers tailor each session and maximize the return on investment.
- Layout Mode and various layout objects
- The Layout Inspector
- Basic Themes and Styles
- Incorporating Custom Themes and Styles
- Combining specific layouts with various window types
- Using layout script triggers
As with previous FileMaker Deep Dive training events, both sessions will be held at the Pittsburgh Carpenters’ Training Center at 652 Ridge Road, not far from the Settler’s Ridge and Robinson Twp areas. Also, breakfast and lunch will be provided at the workshop along with snacks and beverages throughout the day.
The investment to attend a single day of training (either Day 1 or Day 2) is $349 per person. The investment to attend both days of training is $599 per person, a savings of almost $100. Register on or before Monday, February 10 and save $50 on your training investment.
