Whether you are familiar with Custom Functions or not, these should save you some time and frustration when developing a solution that could potentially have text formatting issues.
Generally speaking, Custom Functions are a way to take something complex, repetitive, or confusing, and replace it with one simple function call.
While we would love text to always be entered properly, the reality is that there will be times where some cleanup is necessary. Using a Custom Function to harness the power of FileMaker built-in functions can make the entire process appear to be automatic which takes less time and decreases frustration at troubleshooting strange outcomes.
Sometimes the simplest things can make a major difference when creating or debugging your solution.
Even if you don’t have an immediate need for these specific Custom Functions, this tutorial video may give you ideas of other places in your solution that can be simplified.
